Spend an afternoon with your CCDC host and let us take you into the community to a local hurling game to experience the passion that people have for the ancient Irish game of hurling and our local team.
Visit the local hurling stick makers workshop before mixing and mingling with the local spectators during a competitive game where the stakes are always high and the rivalry intense.
After the match meet the athletes playing this amateur sport to a professional level. Relax with them in the local pub, join them for a meal and enjoy the post-match analysis as they dissect the game.
This is more than a simple trip to a sporting occasion. Your clients will experience Irish social and sporting life as guests of a vibrant community.

Evening with the right Honorable Hector McDonnell
Enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment hosted by historian, author, world-famous realist painter and descendent of one the most distinguished families on the north coast.
The youngest son of the thirteenth Earl and Countess of Antrim, Hector McDonnell grew up in Glenarm Castle before leaving to study history at Eton and Oxford.
Spend an evening in the home this fascinating individual and over dinner learn about the McQuillan and McDonnell history, Glenarm and Dunluce Castle and the story of his ancestor the powerful Gaelic chieftain Sorley Boy MacDonnell.
Dunluce Period Costumes Experience
Take a step back in time to learn the tumultuous history of Dunluce Castle, dressing in fine authentic garments from the castle’s era with brilliant photo opportunities.
Escorted by a renowned local guide, you’ll be regaled by fascinating tales of the MacQuillans, MacDonnells and the castle’s unfortunate demise, the sunken treasure ship and more. Get dressed up and photographed in costumes of the period and become the gentry of the castle viewing your domain.
Finish off with a scrumptious afternoon tea in the Dunluce Cottage tearoom taking in the breath-taking views from Donegal to Scotland.
Glenarm Village Experience
The Glenarm village experience gives visitors a real insight into local Irish life. Take a guided tour of the picturesque coastal village of Glenarm, which is steeped in history and charm. Glenarm is a truly rustic and idyllic location which is the home of Steenson Jewellers who handcraft jewellery for the Game of thrones TV series.
Our local guide, or the Right Hon. Hector McDonnell, will introduce you to village shop owners and locals while telling the history of this quaint village before heading to the famed Glenarm Castle estate for a stroll through the esteemed walled gardens and lunch at the castle’s tearoom.
Cultural Night with Dinner
If you want to taste Irish life in its most natural form then allow us to take you and your group, as visitors, into the local community for an evening of dinner and entertainment, hosted by the McKinley family.
After dinner, join us in the local pub for a world class exhibition of Irish dancing followed by a social evening of traditional music and song.
