Enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment hosted by the youngest son of the thirteenth Earl and Countess of Antrim, Hector Mc Donnell.
Hector is an oxford educated historian, artist and author whose family have ruled the land around the Causeway Coast from the 15th century. The McDonnell family legacy is still evident on the coast today through their castles from Dunluce to Carrickfergus, battle sights and monuments.
Hector was born in Glenarm, County Antrim in 1947, the youngest son of the thirteenth Earl and Countess of Antrim, he grew up in Glenarm Castle before leaving to study history at Eton and Oxford. He went on to study painting in Munich and Vienna from 1965-1966 and subsequent travelling, greatly enhanced his career as a painter.
Spend an evening in the sociable and congenial company of this fascinating storyteller and historian, learning about the McQuillan and McDonnell history, Dunluce Castle, the great chieftain Sorley Boy MacDonnell. and, not least, Hector’s life encounters!
